Google Chrome - Export and Import Bookmarks
It is always recommended to have a backup of your important data. This data not only includes office documents, but bookmarks as well. Chrome stores bookmarks in a local profile on each computer by design. To back these bookmarks up, please follow the steps below.
Export Bookmarks - Use these steps to export your bookmarks
| 1. Open Chrome and click the menu button near the top right corner of the window which is represented by 3 vertical dots. | ![]() | |
| 2. Select Bookmarks and then Bookmark manager | ![]() | |
| 3. Select the Organize menu and then choose Export bookmarks to HTML file... | ![]() | |
| 4. Choose a location to save your Chrome bookmarks. It is recommended to save them to your H drive. Please be sure to remember the location you saved this file so it can be restored in the future. | ![]() | |
Import Bookmarks - Use these steps to add your bookmarks back to Chrome after the migration.

| 2. Select Bookmarks and then Import bookmarks and settings... | ![]() | |
| 3. Click the From drop down menu and select Bookmarks HTML File then click the Import button | ![]() | |
| 4. Browse for and select the file that you saved when you exported the Chrome bookmarks and then select the Open button. | ![]() | |
